Last week...Wednesday...

Last ditch training with my replacement today. My feet were pretty swollen...probably stayed on them too much today. Did not remember to check my blood pressure but I'm sure it was not good. On another note, Cindy Fuller, my pregnant friend from church, had her baby a little after 4pm today Addison Grace - 7lbs/3oz.

Last week.....Tuesday...

Weighed in today, no change from last week. I am doing much better with my bloood pressure and swelling. My weekly OB check up was today...I am 2 centimeters and still about 40% effaced. My bood pressure was high at the visit...since it's been pretty good during the week, must have overdone it at work today and/or anxious about my checkup. Jeff, my boss of 5 years (31 with the company) had his retirement party this evening at Maggiano's...was awesome! I am sure going to miss him!! I am glad I went to bed early last night...I was able to make it all the way to the end of the party!

38th Week

Just completed my 38th week... Weight gain this past week was 3 pounds but was very swollen when I took it. I had my weekly OB check up Tuesday the 23rd. I was still 1 centimeter dilated and 40% effaced. My feet were swollen more than they have ever been...they looked really bad. My blood pressure was also up. Dr. Gunn told me to stay off my feet as much as possible and try to avoid stress. I am suppose to check my bp twice a day and call her if it gets too elevated. I am sure some of it was stress related...I got a new boss last week and have been running around the office like I was NOT pregnant! The whole rest of the week, I went home every afternoon and propped my feet up for the rest of the night. It seemed to help a little with the swelling but my bp was still up a few of those days. It did go back down to normal later in the week and over the weekend.

Friday night at dinner, I thought for sure I was going to have her. I had contractions consistent for over an hour. When I laid down, they went away. She was not ready after all! I was pretty nervous at the thought that it could have been it. Good preparation!

37th Week

Just finished my 37th week...weight gain showed I lost 2 pounds from last week so I guess the swelling was a factor as I have definitely NOT lost any weight. At my weekly OB checkup last Tuesday, I was 1 centimeter dilated and 40% effaced. Dr. Gunn didn't think I would last to my due date but who knows. Afer my checkup, I had contractions the rest of the day...not fun!

We finally finished the nursery as you can see from the previous post. I have continued to have some contractions throughout the week but nothing consistant yet. I try to take it easy these days so I don't throw myself into labor before she is ready to enter the world! As of Monday, Jan 22nd, only 2 more weeks (or less) of work and pregnancy!

The nursery is finally finished! Since I have had a few showers, there has been a drastic change in her closet...LOTS OF PINK!

36th Week: 9th Month & Another Baby Shower

I just finished the 36th week. I am officially in my 9th month of pregnancy and can deliver any time between now and the 6th of February which is my due date. Weight gain was 3 pounds this week...food intake is not any different so I'm sure it's due to the swelling. It's pretty tough getting a full night's sleep these days and getting around has become more of a challenge. I really can't complain though...up to now, I have not had any real negative issues other than what is expected so I have been really blessed during this pregnancy.

Friday, my office gave me a baby shower. I got almost everything I needed or gift cards to finish. Saturday, Jeb & I made a trip to Babies R Us and Pottery Barn to get the rest.

At work, I have started training the person who will be covering for me while I am out...I plan to take the full 12 weeks! As soon as she is fully trained, I will be officially ready anytime.

35th Week: Baby Shower

Just completed my 35th week...weight gain was 1 pound (I'm surprised it was not more considering we ate so much during the holidays). I had another checkup on Tuesday...everything is great and on schedule. It's getting pretty uncomfortable for me at this point. I am walking slower and I recently discovered I am walking with the typical "pregnant wadle". When I am sleeping (when is the key word here), it is with many pillows. No compliants though...(Jeb may tell you different)...because they are all expected things that come with being almost 9 months pregos!

Meg, Bruce & Jared (Jeb's sister, brother-in-law and nephew) and Mark & Sandy (Jeb's brother and his girlfriend) all came in Friday night for the baby shower...it was so great to see them!

Saturday, my sister, mom and close friends threw me a baby shower at Eagle Pointe, our golf course/country club/recreation center in Mont Belvieu. What an event! So many showed up...and so many wonderful gifts. What a blessing everyone was to us. Many friends from Houston and farther came in too...friends I had not seen in a long time. It was such a blessing to me that that came all that way. My mom, sister and the hostesses gave me the shower of my dreams!

34th Week

Just completed my 34th week and weight gain was 2 pounds (basically I gained back the 2 I lost last week. Tuesday (the day after Christmas), we went to the Galleria to buy a diaper bag and I could only last 30 minutes. (Anyone who knows me knows...if I could not last more than 1/2 an hour shopping in the Galleria, it's pretty bad!) Over the long weekend, I decided to go ahead and get my "hospital bag" packed so I will be ready anytime. I am still suffering with heart burn...some nights I have to sleep in the chair. I keep thinking it won't be much longer!! I guess this is sort of preparing me for the sleepless nights!
